 Amita Dragonspell's Altar Photos

Here are my two holiday trees from 2007. The first is a new tree- a dragon tree.
The ornaments are all dragons holding crystals. I have been collecting them for
a couple of years. The second tree is my Amy Brown Fairy Diva tree, which I had
last year for the first time. I have all her new divas from this year too, some really
cute Cat Fairy Divas. this tree was in front of the bay window in the living room
so our neighbors could enjoy the fairies as well!

Here is the tablescape from Halloween (Samhain 2007). This was after the feast, so
the candles have burned down quite a bit. The tablecloth is a Celtic sarong, black roses
were used as party favors for the guests, the mummy candle-holders came from TJ Maxx,
the candle mosiac lanterns from the Cracker Barrel gift shop, the pumpkin Jack O'Lanterns
from Williams-Sonoma and the pumpkin tealight holders and 3 little witches candle-holder
from the Yankee Candle Company. The witch snow globe, which you can barely see is
from a local witch shop called Black Dragon Gifts.

Here is my House Altar, it is Buddhist and is set at the end of the hallway.
In the center is a Cloisonne Altar Buddha from Tibet, an antique from
1890. On the left side of Buddha is Chenrezig, Buddha of Compassion done
in silver and brass. On the right is Green tara, my patron Goddess, also
in silver and brass. I have two Tibetan butter lamps also that are silver.
The wall hanging is from Nepal - the Tibetan knot.

Here is my House Altar, in the candlelight.

Here is the altar from Beltane May 2006.  I had some gorgeous candles crafted for
the occasion in traditional black, white and red. These are also the colors of The
Morrigan, so I used her statue too. Once the Yule altar is up and decorated, I look
forward to bringing that to you too.

Here is the altar from Yule. I actually had two Yule logs this year - the other was in
the living room with the Christmas decorations. This log was perfect for the altar
however! The candleholders were new and the little bear was a gift. He is holding
a poinsettia. The tiny tree next to the crystal is actually a candle. There were
bayberry candles but this was taken after the 21st, so they had already been burnt
in the ritual.

Here is a close up of the Yule log. The stag is for the God.

Here is the altar from Thanksgiving. Please not the new redwood wand that my friend
Joe Rede made. It is something! It actually matches my sacred staff (not pictured).

Here is the altar from SAMHAIN, October 31, 2005. I am burning special Samhain votives
From Starrs Enchantments. The new Jack O'Lantern candle holders are from Hallmark
and the witch Goddess candle came from TJ Maxx! New natural elements include a
stunning citrine cluster.

Here is the altar when it was lit for the SAMHAIN ritual. Spooky, eh?

Here is the altar from MABON, September 22nd.  I used a Goddess theme with Kwan Yin
a Goddess candle (in yummy chocolate scent!) and The Morrigan from Dryad Designs.
The Indian Corn is symbolic of the harvest.

Here is the altar when it was lit for the spellcasting and the MABON ritual.

Here is the altar from MIDSUMMER. The yellow spirit candle is a special LITHA candle
from my candle supplier. Since this is a sun holiday, yellow is the perfect color. The altar
cloth is a beautiful Tibetan kata. The flowers were split and half were used in the beachside
ritual.

Look at how gorgeous this looks with the candles all lit!

Here is the altar from yesterday's Beltane celebration. We had a maypole too (not pictured)
and there are two of the chaplets (flower wreaths) that we wove the day before on Beltane Eve.
The center green and red candle is a specially made Beltane candle created by a wonderful
candle crafter that I found on ebay! Red & white are traditional May Day (Beltane) colors.

Here is the Beltane Altar lit up!

This is my post-Ostara  altar  for Spring. I had bunnies & eggs on it during Ostara but didn't have
the camera out. The chalice is from this past Yule/Christmas.The wooden bowl was completely
handcrafted by a friend of mine and is used for cakes/biscuit offerings.
I have two new Dryad Design icons - Goddess & God.

This is the altar before a circle with the candles lit. I am looking for a center piece of artwork
probably something Goddess-y to go between the shrines.

This is my Yule altar decorated (though still missing the pine boughs & pinecones) for Yule. The two light green candles are bayberry for the bayberry prosperity spell on Yule. The stag statue is to honor the Oak King.

This is the Yule altar by candlelight. On Yule the center Goddess candle and the bayberry candles will also be lit.

This is my Buddhist Altar in its rough state, as I have not put everything back together since the hurricanes. From left to right: a selection of Buddhist malas (prayer beads), Avolekiteshvara (Chenrezig), standing, and small in gold, large Shakyamuni Buddha, gold Ganesha, small Shakyamnui Buddha in silver frame, Padmasambhava (who brought Buddhism to Tibet) and a picture of my dog Cisco who is no longer with us.

This is the altar in its candlelit glory. Note the pumpkin lanterns and witch Halloween candle!

This is the altar in daylight. From left to right: crystal wands, brass bell, crystal point, bloodstone wand, agate incense burner bowl, green quartz carved bowl with salt, soapstone offering bowl, flowers, in the back, the lovely Wiccan Shrine is from Hawkins Design Studio. In the center is an ivory resin Tara stature beside the Goddess of All  Elements and Lord Buddha on the right hand side. There are more crystal points, several crystal spheres, a pentacle paten and an aventurine carved skull, plus my dragon chalice, my Buddha Shrine (also from Hawkins Design Studio) and my three main wands, Myridion, my dragon wand, and the Moon Goddess and Sun God wands, plus my spiral goddess athame. My altar changes constantly and I will post photos of it throughout the year. If you have any questions about any of the items please email me. For those who are interested my Wiccan Altar is located in the North and my Buddhist Altar in the East. The altar itself is handmade and pagancrafted and has a gorgeous painting of the Goddess.

Here is a picture of the altar without the altar cloth. The altar was handcrafted by Enchanted Oak Witchcraft Wares.
